Atlético de Madrid claimed their first home victory of the season with a 1–0 win over Deportivo Alavés. The Colchoneras dominated the attack for most of the match but were unable to find the back of the net until the 91st minute, when Jensen finally broke the deadlock. Deportivo Alavés put in a very solid and well-organised performance and also had their chances.
